Reflections ...July 2014

Been a busy month trying to juggle one job against another, still not ideal as time just gets eaten away...leaving me exhausted trying to do well at both income streams...heart verse reality and obligation...constant battle of being torn in two directions...

I cant work any faster or do any more than just to keep pushing my art hoping for that elusive breakthrough .....

Reflecting 2014..progress and art ideas to move forward....

New work May- July 2014...some new work sold and drying ready for Nest Gallery in Durham. Still trying to juggle two careers..not ideal but hey ho...at least averaging 4 sales per month....so grateful for that...just need more time in a day to work....

Sales et al May2014

Has been a month or two since last update, had a few sculpture sales to London and at the Gallery.
Will be tackling some larger wooden sculptures in the weeks to follow...using metal inserts with wood as a combination piece. Painting sales have been mostly been seascapes and landscape.
Two close friends passed away this week, so reflecting on the unpredictability of life...live for the day...life seems so short to waste it on things that have no positive bearing or outcome....food for thought.

New Abstract Painting 2014.

Started with a new series of work recently, exploring the camouflage theme but adding my own take and ideas on colour theory and form...three works are now complete as I explore this avenue of theory again. Still searching for something...in my head I can almost see it....the journey continues...sold a sculpture recently, so that is something new for UK markets, paintings sell 100 times faster than sculptures....it seems...

New work this week...trying something different....makes my eyes water after a few hours , but the effect works as a visual feast. Hope sales pick up soon as only three this month to date. Hoping to post up other new work by Friday. This work is a 24/30. A medium size canvas , medium oil. Painted two days running at 11 hours each day....need a walk out in the morning to prevent studio fever...happy new year to all my readers who pop in here from time to time. Lets hope for a good year with art sales and progress to follow on my journey....
